DART Senior Executive VP, COO Accepts Position with MTA New York City Transit 

DALLAS — Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) announced on Thursday, March 20, that Bernard Jackson, senior executive vice president & chief operations officer, has accepted a position as chief operating officer at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Jackson’s last day at the agency is set for Friday, May 2, 2025.

“NYMTA is North America’s largest transportation network, and this is a tremendous opportunity for BJ, as well as a testament to the incredible work he has done here since joining us in May 2022,” said DART CEO & President Nadine S. Lee. “From the roll out of DART Zoom to maintaining ninety-nine percent service delivery to installing a culture of excellence in customer service, BJ has been a driving force behind our growth and success.”

In the coming weeks, DART will be naming an interim COO and initiating a nationwide recruitment search to fill the vacant position.

“I came to DART because I believed in the leadership of Nadine Lee. Over time, I came to appreciate the outstanding employees who work tirelessly to deliver quality service to those who rely on DART,” said DART Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer Bernard Jackson. “I’ve met great people at a great agency. While I’m looking forward to new challenges, I will always keep pulling for DART. Thank you for an experience I will never forget.”
