Houston Airports Hits Safety Milestone as Construction of New Terminal Progresses

HOUSTON — Houston Airports celebrated a significant safety achievement in May at its ongoing construction project, the IAH Terminal Development Program (ITRP). The project, which encompasses the development of a new international terminal at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), has surpassed a milestone with over 4.9 million man-hours worked program-wide, without a single lost-time injury reported. 

“Safety is our core value at Houston Airports,” said Jim Szczesniak, Director of Aviation for Houston Airports. “We are incredibly proud of this achievement, which reflects the dedication of our entire team, including our employees, our valued contractors, and the Project Management Team.”

The ongoing construction at IAH is a complex undertaking, involving many contractors working collaboratively to deliver safely for our passengers, employees, and our entire community. All parties involved have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards throughout the project.
