The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the U.S. Department of Labor will host a virtual meeting with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to discuss railroad worker safety and whistleblower protections. The session is scheduled for Oct. 29, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. EDT and will be available to the public in both English and Spanish.
The meeting invites input from stakeholders across the railroad industry, focusing on the unique challenges workers face and the protections in place to support employees who report safety violations. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback directly to OSHA and FRA representatives, contributing to discussions on enhancing the industry’s safety culture and understanding the importance of safeguarding whistleblowers.
For those unable to attend, public comments are also welcomed and may be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal. Individuals should refer to Docket Number OSHA-2024-0007 when submitting their comments. The deadline for written submissions is Nov. 11, 2024.
OSHA’s Whistleblower Protection Program plays an essential role in safeguarding employees who report safety concerns, promoting transparency and accountability in the workplace.
