The oil and gas giant has successfully acquired almost 80 acres of prime land in Bridgeland Central, a highly sought-after planned community that is set to revolutionize the landscape of Bridgeland and Northwest Houston. The owner of this community has confidently positioned it as an urban hub, and we are proud to be a part of this exciting transformation.

Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has recently acquired a significant portion of land in Bridgeland Central, a planned community located in Northwest Houston. The community is owned by Howard Hughes Holdings Inc., a national housing development company, and is being touted as a future economic powerhouse for the surrounding region. The acquisition of over 77 acres by Chevron has been hailed by Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for Howard Hughes, as a pivotal moment for Bridgeland as it enters its next phase of development as a leading job center for the region.

According to Daniel Abate, Head of Corporate Real Estate for Chevron, the company was attracted to the opportunities offered by Bridgeland and views this acquisition as a strong addition to its asset portfolio. Chevron takes pride in contributing to the communities where it lives and works and is excited about the potential of establishing a research and development campus in Bridgeland to advance its work towards achieving a lower carbon energy future.

“Chevron is attracted to the opportunities Bridgeland has to offer and views this acquisition as a strong addition to our asset portfolio,” said in a statement. “We take pride in contributing to the communities where we live and work and are excited about the potential of establishing a research and development campus in Bridgeland to advance our work toward achieving a lower carbon energy future,” he continued.

Chevron’s purchase follows the recent announcement of the first phase of Bridgeland Central’s construction, which includes an H-E-B grocery store and the first mass timber office development for both Howard Hughes and the 12-county Greater Houston area. Bridgeland Central is like other planned communities owned by Howard Hughes Holdings in several states across the country, most notably The Woodlands, the wealthy north Houston township where Chevron Phillips established its global corporate campus headquarters in July 2002.
