The MGMC is an annual event sponsored by the Architecture Center Houston Foundation and AIA Houston and emphasizes creative problem-solving.

Students participate in a series of events led by architects, such as learning basic architectural drawing skills and how to understand clients’ needs, a news release stated. Winning students receive scholarships to a university or college of their choice.

The program has reportedly awarded over $250,000 in scholarships over the years. Many past participants return to support the program after graduating from college with architecture degrees.
